Packard Bell is preparing to launch a new version of the EasyNote TX86 notebook in the coming weeks and the first specs of these laptops have made their appearance online together with a few pictures teasing its stylish design.

Once it becomes available, the new EasyNote TX86 will become one of the company's thinnest portable computers as this measures no more than 21.9mm at its thickest point.

However, the slim design doesn't mean that the notebook will come underpowered as Packard Bell will equip this with Intel's second-generation Core processors that offer higher performance than the Arrandale CPUs found in the previous version of the laptop.

Going for Intel's Sandy Bridge also enabled Packard Bell to expand the battery life of the EasyNote TX86, which should be able to provide up to 8 hours of use from a 6-cell, 4,400 mAh battery pack.

Outside of the Intel processors, the machine was also configured to come with a discrete Nvidia GeForce graphics card (400 or 500-series) that is seconded by 1GB of video buffer.

This will also support the Optimus technology for automatically switching between the integrated Intel GPU and the dedicated graphics.

The rest of the feature list includes 6 GB of RAM, a mechanical hard drive with 500GB of storage space, Gigabit Ethernet and WiFi connectivity, a 1.3 megapixel webcam and the operating system of choice is Windows 7 Home Premium.

Along the sides of the notebook, users will find all the usual ports and connectors, including VGA and HDMI outputs as well as a high-speed USB 3.0 port. The screen measures 15.6-inch in size and sports a LED-backlit panel.

Right now, we don't know when the first Sandy Bridge-powered TX86 notebook are expected to arrive or what price tag they will carry. (via Notebook Italia)
