Acer's subsidiary Packard Bell has recently updated its product line with the introduction of a new, ultraportable system that the PC vendor showcased at this year's IFA event in Berlin, Germany. The said model, part of the company's EasyNote Butterfly series, has been designed to provide users with a larger, 15.6-inch display, representing a step up from the 13.4-inch version the company announced a while back. According to available specifications, users should take advantage of a low-voltage processor, combined with an ATI Mobility Radeon graphics solution, packed inside a system that boasts a weight of just 2.4kg.

According to the fellows over at notebookitalia, who caught a glimpse of the system at the IFA show, the new laptop has been featured with a 15.6-inch display, boasting a resolution of 1366 by 768 pixels and a 16:9 aspect ratio. The ultraportable is powered by an unspecified, low-voltage processor that has been coupled with an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330 graphics chip, which can be switched on for an increased graphics performance, or switched off for an improved battery life. Additionally, the laptop comes with as much as 4GB of RAM and a large-capacity 640GB hard drive.

Like any respectable laptop in its category, the EasyNote Butterfly m also boasts all the usual features, like Bluetooth 2.1 and the wireless 802.11n connectivity, but also a multi-touch trackpad. The laptop comes with a full keyboard and numeric keypad, while, on the exterior, Packard Bell has designed the laptop with a shiny, silver lid.

Packard Bell's new EasyNote Butterfly m laptop will provide users with an alternative to the expanding ultraportable offering currently available on the market. The laptop will reportedly be available in Europe next month, for a starting price of €599, or approximately US$900. There's no word on when or if the system will be available stateside.
