The only device to post a year-over-year increase is the 3DS

Michael Pachter, the analyst watching the video game industry for Wedbush Morgan, predicts that the NPD Group figures for the month of April that will be released before the end of the week will show another disappointing performance for the Wii U.

Sales of the Nintendo home console are expected to decline to 55,000 units, which is a 19 percent drop when compared to March.

The older Wii will follow the same trend, but despite a slide of 19%, the older device will still manage to sell 75,000 units.

Pachter, cited by Joystiq, believes that both the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 continue to sell well when compared to 2012, while the Vita is still under Sony projections.

The Nintendo 3DS handheld will post an almost 50 percent increase in sales over the similar period of 2012, reaching 185,000 units delivered to gamers.
