From Datel

After the PSP has encountered the first security problem once a so called firmware upgrade appeared (which, in fact, paralyzed the console), Sony's console users have now a reason to rejoice, thanks to a solution which might solve the storage space problem.

It seems that the problem of limited space is not encountered only by PC and notebook users, for the gaming consoles are starting to be affected as well. Datel is currently readying a storage solution called Max 4 GB HDD.

This is aimed at PSP owners who haven't acquired a high capacity Memory Stick; the solution proposed by Datel will connect to the console's battery slot.

The component contains a 4GB mini hard-disk, a solution already employed by several MP3 players and even by some cell phones. The hard-disk will be powered by a 3600 mh X2 battery. In conclusion, aside from solving the storage problem, Datel's solution could also improve the console battery's lifespan.

It seems that the offer is very appealing to PSP fans, since a 1GB Memory Stick Duo is priced somewhere between $80 and $130, and Datel has announced that the 4GB solution will cost $250. The first shipments will be made around October 20, and the products will be available through Dark Planets.
