14 DAY TRIAL // As everyone knows by now, FIFA 08 launches for the PC, PS2, PS3, Wii, Xbox 360, Nintendo DS, and Sony PSP. While the game's features are fairly similar for all platforms, as confirmed at this year's GC convention in Leipzig, handheld ports have some extra ones, but also some lacking ones. That's why we thought it would be nice to share what we've just found out about the PSP port of EA's FIFA 08.
For starters, controls. It has been confirmed that the PSP version of FIFA 08 will enable gamers to dictate the play with control over through-passing and crossing, while control over the goalkeeper is just as accurate as with the other ports.
There will be managing to do as well and that's where your intelligence will show (or will not show, depending on the individual). You will be able to use new custom formations and design your own unique strategy to create the perfect formation and tactics. You can also assign roles and move players to the exact position in relation to teammates to undermine the opposition. OK then, now let's get down to the heavy stuff (as in key features):
Manual Controls - New manual controls enable you to dictate the play with control over through-passing and crossing. Control the goalkeeper in one-on-one situations to deny the striker yourself.
Enhanced AI - New defensive and positioning logic requires greater tactical expertise to break down the opposition. New AI ensures players are in the right place at the right time. Player and team traits differentiate the stars.
Custom Formations - Design your own unique strategy to create the perfect formation and tactics. Set each player's exact position in the formation and assign specific attacking and defensive runs to unlock the opposition.
Manager Mode Improvements - New features include pre-season friendlies to test your team before a campaign, new training options to hone your squad of players and dynamic board expectations that change depending on your successes ? or failures.
Interactive Leagues On The Go! - Play the award-winning Interactive Leagues on the go. Play for your club online* against your biggest rivals throughout the season in the F.A. Premier League, Bundesliga, French Ligue 1 and Mexican 1st Division. When they play, you play.
Football IQ - Test your football knowledge in an all-new Quiz mode featuring thousands of questions from the world of football. Use the points earned for correct answers to buy unlockable content, including third kits, videos and more from the in-game FIFA 08 store.
Complete Authenticity - Featuring 30 leagues, 30 real stadiums and 12,500 players all accurately re-created.
