Sony hasn't forgotten about PlayStation Portable owners, and has announced the release of three special Dual Packs, which include classic games from the library of the handheld device, being sold both in retail outlets and on the PlayStation Store at a special price.

Sony is getting ready to debut a brand new portable device, in the form of the PlayStation Vita, but this doesn't mean it has forgotten about the old PSP.

Now, after cutting the price on the device in both North America and Europe earlier this year, the company has revealed three special PSP Dual Packs, which include games from the Greatest Hits and Favorites collections, in special packaging that will be out soon for just $14.99, in both retail stores and on the digital PlayStation Store.

"This summer, we know you’ll be looking for ways to spend all of those lazy days. With an awesome selection of titles in the both “Greatest Hits” and “Favorites” collections, there’ll be no shortage of entertainment on-the-go." Sony revealed on the PlayStation Blog.

"We’re always looking for ways to add value to your PSP experience and today, we’re very excited to announce the new PSP “Dual Pack” software line, which features two PSP games from our most popular franchises in one package for only $14.99 (MSRP)."

Three packs have been announced for release, but, if sales satisfy the Japanese company, PSP owners might see the release of new ones later this year, before the PlayStation Vita is launched.

"Starting this week, you can buy Dual Packs with Secret Agent Clank and Daxter; Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow and Killzone Liberation; and Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror and SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs: Fireteam Bravo. These PSP Dual Packs will be available at retailers nationwide and on the PlayStation Store in downloadable form."
