Sony is getting ready to kick off its traditional Spring Fever sale later today, when it updates the PlayStation Store in North America.

Seeing as how Microsoft runs its own promotions on the Xbox Live online service every few months, Sony doesn’t want its users to feel neglected.

As such, the company is kicking off later today the Spring Fever event on the PlayStation Network.

During the promotion, three impressive downloadable games will appear, starting with thatgamecompany’s Journey, and continuing with Ubisoft’s Rayman 3 HD and indie title Closure.

Besides the impressive titles, each week a new franchise will see massive discounts made to content and the full games that are part of it. The first one is Activision’s Call of Duty Series, and the following weeks will see price cuts made to the Final Fantasy and Tom Clancy franchises.
