Sony says that it is currently investigating the problems that the PlayStation Network is facing after the launch of the PlayStation 4 in Europe and hopes to quickly deliver an official fix for the problem.

An official Twitter message from the company states, "We are aware some users are experiencing issues logging into PSN on PS4 due to the heavy traffic we are receiving, we're investigating."

It's unclear how many of those who have bought PS4s are being affected and whether there's anything they can do on their end to ease the problem.

The fact that PSN is affected might be a sign that Sony has failed to take into account the huge number of players that are looking to log into the service.

The PlayStation 4 is at the moment available in both North America and in Europe for 399 dollars or Euro.
