The developers at CCP who are working on Dust 514, the shooter for the PlayStation 3 linked to the EVE Online MMO universe, have said that Sony has completely eliminated the barriers linked to the PlayStation Network in order to allow updates for the game to appear often and quickly.

Brandon Laurino, who is the executive producer working on Dust 514, reported to Eurogamer that, “We have complete ability to service and update the game as much as needed. We’ve worked out a framework where it’s certainly not, and essentially it’s not even a thought, it’s a completely trivial part of the equation.”

Sony and CCP are collaborating in order to make sure that EVE Online and Dust 514 are able to communicate easily with each other, creating a shared universe that will deliver a unique playing experience.

Dust 514 will be launched on the PS3 later in the year and it seems that the developers are also preparing a PC version of the free-to-play shooter.
