Sony Computer Entertainment America boss Jack Tretton has talked about the current shortage experienced by the PlayStation 4 and revealed that his heart is breaking over the fact that there aren't enough units on store shelves these days.

The PS4 launched in North America on November 15 and quickly surged past the 1 million units sold mark. Since then, the company has been rolling out the next-gen device in other regions, despite ongoing shortages experienced in North America.

According to Sony's Jack Tretton, the current situation is regrettable.

He discussed this problem on the PS blog and revealed that the holidays were an important period for any sort of product.

As such, the fact that the PS4 isn't on nearly enough store shelves is breaking the heart of the CEO, especially since there are plenty of gamers who want to spend money on a new console this time of the year.
