Evolution is still finding new ways to use the PS4's power

The PS4's performance limit hasn't been reached just yet, at least according to Driveclub developer Evolution Studios, as it's constantly finding new ways of pushing the hardware of the new Sony console.

The PS4 came out last November, and alongside it quite a lot of games that looked quite good appeared. What's more, since then it's been proven that the Sony console is a bit more powerful than Microsoft's Xbox One, as more games are able to run at higher resolutions or faster framerates on it than on its competitor.

Even so, Evolution Studios emphasizes that the PS4 isn't even close to reaching its full potential. Driveclub Game Director Paul Rustchynsky has talked with RedBull and even confirms that Evolution, as a Sony-owned developer, submitted a lot of feedback during the PS4's creation process.

"The PS4 is fantastic to work with because it’s been built in collaboration with studios like ours," he explains. "We’ve been able to provide input into the hardware and system software design to make sure we get the best tools to make the greatest games we can imagine."

Because these tools are constantly upgraded and because Sony's studios are working together to share knowledge and know-how, the PS4 isn't even close to reaching its full potential.

"Looking back at what we’ve been able to do in the past two years, and how we’re continually finding new ways of getting even more performance out of the hardware, I don’t think we’re anywhere close to reaching the limit of what the PS4 can do yet."

Rustchynsky also adds that because the PS4 is such a social console, through the use of the Share button and other such mechanics, playing with friends and making sure that you're up to date with their game actions is much easier.

"Connectivity is at the heart of Driveclub, just like it’s at the heart of PS4," he adds. "We want to bring you together with your friends so that you get more out of every race. It makes your victories sweeter when you know that your friends also get to know about it or be a part of it, so we’ve designed the game with this in mind."

"We’ve come a long way since the limited one-on-one challenge scenarios we used to play on PS3, and it’s going to play a big part in keeping the game lively and exciting for you for a long time."

Driveclub allows owners to create their own racing groups and go on all sorts of multiplayer encounters with others just like them.

The title debuts exclusively for the PS4 this October.
