The MMO space is changing fast, with most titles today launching without a subscription model, but developer Blizzard believes that the genre will be further disrupted by the launch of the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox 720 and the rise of tablet gaming.

Greg Street, the lead systems designer working on World of Warcraft, tells NowGamer that, “We get to see where do the next generation of consoles go and where do tablets and portable devices go, and what are players most interested in?”

The developer admits that his team has no clear idea of how MMOs will evolve, but he is interested in seeing how other teams tackle this evolutionary process.

Blizzard is rumored to have been working on a console-based project called Titan for the last few years and a reveal might be planned for later during 2013.
