Infamous : Second Son developer Sucker Punch Productions has apparently confirmed that Sony America will turn on the preload mechanic for the PlayStation Store next month.

Infamous: Second Son is launching today worldwide for the PS4, but those who got the game digitally via the PlayStation Store will have to download it right now at peak time.

As you can imagine, this has annoyed quite a few customers who were hoping for a preload option, as seen on PC for example, where buyers of digital games can start downloading most of the files before a game's launch.

Unfortunately, such a thing isn't possible just yet, but developer Sucker Punch has apparently confirmed that things will soon change.

The studio has mentioned on Twitter that the preload function for the PS Store on the PS4 will be available in April at least in North America. The developer has said that it has no idea about a similar function for the PS Store in PAL regions like Europe, as it hasn't been in touch with Sony's regional division.

As of yet, however, Sony hasn't revealed any plans about a preload function, so expect to hear some actual details soon enough via its official channels.
