The next big PS4 firmware update, which should take the console's system software version up to 2.50, has just received a leaked video that showcases regular use but also some of the new features present in the new patch, such as suspend/resume and other such things.

The PS4 has been around for some time now, but Sony has been quite slow at adding new features and functionality to its PS4 through system software updates, opting most often to release new firmware versions that just improved stability and didn't add any new things.

The next big update is codenamed Yukimura and should take the console's firmware up to version 2.50.

A leaked video shows the new firmware in action

After getting some official details from Sony earlier this week, fans can now enjoy a leaked video via Reddit, showcasing the current beta version of the new system software in regular use, while also highlighting some of the all-new elements like suspend/resume for games and apps.

By far the most intriguing portion deals with the new accessibility options coming through the upcoming firmware update to the PS4. From inverting the colors of the user interface to enlarging or bolding the text, to zooming in on certain portions of the screen, those with disabilities or problems can easily customize their PS4 experience.

The 8-minute video is quite comprehensive and shows quite a few different elements of the new firmware update for the PS4. Unfortunately, it's still unclear when the final version of the system software will be released by Sony.

The company emphasized that it wants to do things right and won't rush its release, so it looks like more waiting is in store for PS4 owners. It also mentioned that other features, such as the rumored backup to external storage, might not make it into the update, as more testing is still required in order to ensure proper functionality.
