Sony is apparently getting ready to debut a brand new Gold Wireless Stereo Headset and, in its official description, it appears that the device will work on the PS4 only with the upcoming 1.6 firmware update.

The PS4 came out last November, and alongside it Sony launched a day-one firmware update, taking the system's software to version 1.50 and enabling lots of features.

Since then, two more updates have been released, 1.51 and 1.52, designed to fix some serious errors.

Now, another new system software patch has been leaked, in the form of 1.60, which is apparently coming very soon with support for the new Sony Gold Wireless Stereo Headset.

This is at least according to the description of the device found on PlayAsia, via NeoGAF. It's unclear when the actual update or the headset will launch, but expect an official announcement soon enough straight from Sony.
