And if Burnout 5 looks like this...

It was about time we heard of a title for the PS3 being dated.
Good thing it's launching on the Xbox 360 too (at the same time if I'm getting all the facts right). But don't get too excited though, it's not due till winter, when players will put on their wool hats to take their dangerous driving experience to a whole new level with Burnout Paradise.

Pete Hawley, Executive Producer, Burnout Paradise comments on the benefits brought by next-gen technology and how it has opened new possibilities for the development team, allowing to "pile up" on the already well set building blocks of the Burnout series:

"We have been working towards Burnout Paradise for quite some time. Next generation consoles have opened up a raft of new gameplay opportunities and the Criterion team has leapt at the chance to innovate and raise the bar to an all-new high. There are going to be some big surprises and a lot of new features but the core of the game is still pure Burnout. Instant accessibility will be reinforced by innovative on-line capabilities which will see Burnout Paradise smash racing conventions."

Here's what you can do with Burnout Paradise:

- explore the city;
- discover events;
- look for the best opportunities to crash;
- jump and pull signature takedowns;
- get the keys to the city, but it's up to you to earn the keys to the meanest and most dangerous cars on the street;
- earn your Burnout license.

What else would gamers love about a game like Burnout if not crashing into something or someone and also getting credit points for it? And we haven't even gotten to the cool part yet. Now that Burnout's turning into the next-gen street chaos, gamers will experience unprecedented level of crash deformation and the most explosive pile-ups in the series' history. This was the idea all along. Providing the player with a vast place where he/she can do practically anything, without having to worry about the Game Over sign.
