A step forward for the problematic console

Finally, some good news about the PS3. At the time of launch, the PS3 console was highly criticized due to poor backwards compatibility. YouTube also contributed and showed in a video just how bad some PS2 games look on PS3. With the latest firmware from Sony, version 1.5 fixed the problem and now PS2 games look pretty good.

Other small improvements were also noticed, as Ben Kuchera at Opposable Thumbs reckons "the PlayStation Store seems to be more responsive," in terms that flipping through pages is a little faster now with the new firmware 1.5.

This news intrigued me because I have to admit I was pretty anxious to hear some good news about the PS3. Everyone knows it could use a brake and now that updates have done well, it's time to let the PS3 do its job.

Even if the PS3 seems to be on its way, it still lacks a good game list and for now, owners will just have to settle using the new update and playing their PS2 games. The game which seems to be the most popular is Guitar Hero 2 and now, all who love it just want to get the new update as soon as possible so they can "rock" on PS3, but, there is a small problem. The GH controller cannot be used on PS3 as it lacks the PS button. A controller swap is also out of the question because there is no on/off button to make the GH controller go analog.

So, if we take out the marketing and price problems the PS3 was surrounded with, it leaves just minor problems that are seemingly being fixed one at a time.
