PS3 Ratchet & Clank Arrives, Glitches Included

Setting the "one bug per game" trend...

While we're playing Crash of the Titans on the PSP and Xbox 360, another major platformer arises, Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction being the most awaited

game of its genre on the PS3. However, there's a pretty ugly glitch that comes with the game, but it won't change the title's gameplay fortunately.

It seems that the bug doesn't allow you to save the game on your console's hard drive and a message pops up showing that you have no more storage space available. This glitch surfaced in the US version and it can be spotted the first time you boot the game. The weird thing is that you can have all the storage space you want on your PS3's hard drive and the message pops will pop up anyway. You can solve the problem for yourself by deleting 500MB-worth content from the hard drive, but this is only a temporary solution, as the future copies will be available without the glitch.

This is not the first time I've seen a major game facing such issues or glitches, as even the acclaimed BioShock had its problems, if you remember that widescreen bug. While that took a while to be solved, things will move faster in the case of Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction, since it's simply a matter of pulling out the glitch from upcoming copies. We're surprised to see that bugs and glitches still occur even after the beta testing of a game and on rare occasions we see titles coming out bug-free, after the demo got criticized for its flaws.

Just look at that funny glitch in Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 I've shown you yesterday... How did the game get past testing? It would be nice if those beta testers could really look into all of the aspects of a certain title before allowing it to reach the production phase.
