No arguing that the PS3 still has few titles, but they're all breathtaking ('cept MotorStorm maybe)

Ever wonder why Sony's PlayStation3 costs so damn much? Surely you have, but have you seen the answer? Probably not, but leaving aside that Sony's competing with Microsoft's Xbox Live Arcade and Nintendo's Wii Channel providing PS3 users with PlayStation Home, which sounds pretty good (much like Linden's Second Life sim), the console doesn't provide many game titles. Aaa, but although it doesn't hold that big of a title list, all the titles found available for the console, whether they are downloadable ones or on Blu-ray discs, take your breath away.

Playside, the PlayStation official Media Site posts a list of 15 titles available and soon-to-be-available games for the PS3, with numerous screenshots and trailers for the lot, in an attempt to show the world exactly what the machine can do and why you pay that sadistically set $600 price tag. We talked about one of the games in that list earlier this week (New Burnout 5 Screens) but today's winner is a game from a totally different genre, just in case you thought that the PS3's graphics looked good only with racing titles: Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction.

Just check out the trailer below. Need I say more? Colors, texturing, edges, lighting... and keep in mind that this is just a streamed video, so the game should look even better on your TV set at home. Of course, screens and so called "in-game" footage aren't always exact replicas of in-game activity, but what I've seen so far in regards to the PS3 has proven that it's all true.

The game was first announced at the GDC in 2006, where a Ratchet & Clank next-gen tech demonstration was shown, consisting of in-game footage. The trailer available today shows that many new worlds and weapons have been introduced, being more of a platform game because Insomniac wanted to stop the series from becoming the more weapon based combat game it had become in UYA and Deadlocked. Check out the video and share impressions if you want, but may I add just one little advice? Two words my PS3 gamer: Must Have.
