It's official, racing
simulation fans,
Sony has confirmed at the PlayStation Premiere event in Tokyo that
Gran Turismo 5 Prologue will be available in Japan as soon as October. The catch is that it will not be the full version of the game, but a demo of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, featuring full online support as well as some cars soon to be featured in this year's Tokyo Motor Show, as ps3fanboy.com
reports.
There is no word yet on the price for the download, as the mentioned site reports, but considering that PSN offerings are currently free... I wouldn't want to go that far, but it makes sense as long as they didn't hesitate dating the demo's release in Japan, not adding anything else to the news.
Now, as the world's biggest Gran Turismo fan, I've always wanted to express my feelings as to what we should be able to do with the cars inside the game. You're a fan right? You must be, since you've made it to the third paragraph and you're still reading. Remember the first Gran Turismo installment? Yes, nothing beats the first game in the series, it's a general thing (most of the times), but what could you do with your car in GT 1, that you can't do with GT 3 A-spec and GT 4? (can't remember about
GT 2 though).
That's right: turn your used/new/tuned/not tuned car into a Special Model (a new one was worth 500,000 credits back then, but turning your car into one would set you back just 85,000). Basically, it enabled you to do a two-option paint job, equip a wing, racing wheels... everything, all at once. I myself couldn't wait to see what car the next championship brought, so I could just barge in at the manufacturer and pimp it out. It was the coolest thing ever. You never knew what your car was going to look like. Well, of course after a whole year of non-stop playing yes, but still...
Anyway (I hope you still remember our topic), what I'm trying to say is... Please Sony, please oh, please, oh please do implement this feature within Gran Turismo 5 Prologue...!!! Anyone else with me on this one?
