Some thought of selling their pre-orders

Swindlers and "wise-guys" thought that some money could also be made on the expense of gamers everywhere. So, once the pre-ordering list for the PS3 was opened, they hurried to place theirs.

Just a few hours after the pre-order list was opened by retailers, some people were already selling PS3 on eBay. Although the pre-orders themselves were limited, retailers receiving only 8 units, larger stores 16, some people found a way to make money out of this.

If you search eBay, you will be able to find 20 listings for PS3 sales, but no bids made for those listings. If you want the PS3 ahead of others, just try and click on a listing and you will see that you will be redirected to an "Invalid item" page, and as you hit the eBay dead-end, you'll realize that you will have to wait for the PS3 as all of us do.

Smart move on eBay's account as they previously had some discussions regarding pre-sales. The websites' rules say that pre-sales are permitted but there are some restrictions.

The most important restriction is that an item must be available within 30 days from the date of the purchase. If the PS3 listing would have started tomorrow, there would have not been any cancellation on behalf of eBay.
