A so called overrated 3.0 marked by IGN and shoved down peoples throats even though it blows game is
God Hand, a sci-fi/post-apocalyptic-themed beat 'em up that combines traditional gameplay elements of the genre with new features such as knocking enemies into the sky and a new counter system. Now, the reason we're talking about this game today is because its
price drops
with each passing day, because it still rests on shop shelves. Nobody is going anywhere near it. Why?
Development for the game was supervised by Shinji Mikami, best known for the Resident Evil and Devil May Cry series of games. It was released in Japan on September 14th 2006, and on October 10th 2006 in North America. 17th February is the launch date in Europe.
God Hand is a 3-D action game much like
Devil May Cry. The player moves in all directions, using special moves which are unlocked or powered up as the game progresses through an in-game shop. The control scheme is borrowed directly from Resident Evil 4 but has some changes. The player is given a character to build and mold. No player will have a similar gameplay experience, or go into battle the same way, which is why it is so familiar with Devil May Cry 3.
God Hand is the kind of game that mostly attracts old-school gamers (obviously the reason for which the game was rated 3.0 by IGN), but for its use of humor and refreshing change of difficulty, from what the recent mainstream of gaming has to offer, the game received a lot of positive impressions as well. Later on, GameSpot gave the game an 8.0 out of ten and G4's X-Play a 4 out of 5. Now, correct me if I'm wrong but, how does one know what kind of game he/she is buying when one game is rated in such manner by three well known gaming sites? I'm not saying that the game is a total winner, or that it blows. It does have some lacking features but it doesn't deserve its rating.
