People living in Japan greatly enjoyed a game called Neverland Card Battles, a PS2 exclusive (at that time) bringing the trading card genre to a whole new level. The US branch of the game's developers, Yuke's Company of America, understood that such a great project should be shared with the western markets, too, and started to develop Neverland Card Battles for the PSP systems this time. The game is almost ready and it will hit the North American markets in October, published by Atlus USA.

Boasting an original Japanese art style and a cast of super-powered heroes and monsters, Neverland Card Battles promises to bring players an even better experience than the original. To do that, the developers plan to enhance this PSP version with brand new cutscenes, updated graphics and visuals, as well as a fully optimized 16:9 display. The card war experience will also be taken to maximum heights by the two-player battles, thanks to the ad hoc multiplayer modes.

"The original Japanese version of Neverland Card Battles was extremely well received and caught our attention as the best trading card game out there," said Ken Koyama, manager of product development at Yuke's Company of America. "We have enhanced and optimized NCB for the portable experience, and will offer one of the finest card-strategy games ever created for the PSP this Fall."

Neverland Card Battles comes with a rather classic story: a war between humans and demons is tearing the lands apart and is on the verge of freeing an evil god, Hellgaia, from its tomb. However, there are a few people called Dominators who can wield the powers found within the Spectral Cards. The player will step into the shoes of young Dominator Galahad, set on a quest to banish Hellgaia by himself and save the lands from judgment day. And that's when the fun begins!
