After plenty of rumors and speculation, Sony has confirmed that it will release the PlayStation Vita Slim (PCH-2000) in North America this year, but apparently only through a Borderlands 2 bundle.

The company has already released the new and improved PS Vita in Japan last year and confirmed it a few weeks ago for the UK. Now, the slimmer portable console is making its way to North America this spring, according to the PS blog.

The console boasts a new LCD screen, but also better battery life, a built-in 1GB memory, and a refined shape.

The PS Vita Slim will be sold through a special Borderlands 2 bundle that includes the console, its own version of Borderlands 2 plus all of its DLC packs except the Headhunter ones, and an 8GB memory card.

Unfortunately, there's no release date for the PS Vita Slim just yet, but you can admire the video above with it in action.
