The Firmware xTractor is the most popular tool for extracting the firmware of the newly-released gaming console Sony PS Vita. It has now been upgraded to version 2.01.The new version has received a Download FW option, which seems to have been requested by users, and various minor working fixes, including a filename fix as well.
Users can install the PS VITA Firmware xTractor 2.01 on their computers and retrieve the software from the portable consoles.
Still, we don't know if this version works with the
newly-released firmware 1.50. The 1.50 firmware was annouced by Sony as being compatible only with Vitas sold in Japan; whether and when the rest of the world will receive the update is still to be decided.
While Windows and Linux users can freely install and use the PS VITA Firmware xTractor 2.01, Mac owners have been left aside, at least for the time being. No news yet as to a Mac-oriented xTractor version being available.
You can download the latest version of the
PS VITA Firmware xTractor (2.01) from Softpedia in complete confidence. And of course,
the Linux version.
