Sony has just officially revealed the PlayStation Plus April update that will appear next month for PS4, PS3, and PS Vita owners in North America, confirming that Mercenary Kings will be offered for free on the PS4, alongside a selection of other great titles, like Batman: Arkham City.

Sony certainly took its time with the April update for the PlayStation Plus Instant Game Collection, although one major leak appeared a few days ago.

Now, the company has made it official for North America, via PS blog.

First up, PS4 owners get Mercenary Kings. The hectic 2D action game, which borrows heavily from classics like Metal Slug, tasks players with exploring the island of CLAW, an evil organization with mercenaries and various traps. Luckily, you can use all sorts of crazy characters that are not only great in battle but also in the workshop, as you can create all kinds of guns while upgrading body armor and other such things.

North American PS3 users will be treated to Batman: Arkham City, Stealth Inc. a Clone in the Dark, and Castle of Illusion.

Batman: Arkham City puts players once again behind the mask of the Caped Crusader, who must now explore an open world filled crazy villains and plenty of dangers. Thankfully, you have more than enough new gadgets and abilities with which you can take them down.

Castle of Illusion reimagines the classic Sega Genesis title with brand new high-definition graphics and refined gameplay starring everyone's favorite little mouse – Mickey. Players will have to save Minnie and brave the dangers of the Castle of Illusion, so prepare to navigate some serious puzzles.

Stealth Inc. A Clone in the Dark is the renamed edition of PC title Stealth Bastard Deluxe and delivers a stealth puzzle platformer with intense and quite challenging levels. Players will have to sneak by enemies, cameras, and all sorts of other dangers, as being spotted means instant death. Stealth Inc. is available for PS3 but also for the PS Vita for free thanks to Cross-Buy.

Last but not least, PS Vita owners will get a few dedicated games as well, starting with Velocity Ultra, which refines the already impressive original with even better gameplay and visuals while keeping its stunning soundtrack.

PS Vita users in North America will also get PixelJunk Monsters Ultimate HD, the delightful and colorful tower defense game that tasks players with surviving waves upon waves of enemies.

All these new games will be offered for free to PS Plus users in North America starting next week.
