As the widescreen dedicated market is growing with the speed of light, new displays are emerging at lower prices than the ones retailed last year. Consequently, ProLiNK's latest 19" inch PRO198 monitor comes at a reasonable $349 and sports a superior high resolution of 1400 x 900 and Multimedia Speakers for a total viewing experience.

The company's latest LCD also features a widescreen aspect ratio viewing area of 16:10, at a size of 503 (W) x 487 (H) x 133 (D), 'heavy weighing' 5.5 kg. The pixel pitch is of 0.283mm, as the display has a color support of 16.7 Mil, brightness of 300 cd/m?, and Analog RGB & DVI Digital Link inputs.

But also Gateway's FPD2185W 21-inch display, the best-selling 21-inch Widescreen display worldwide, with more than 51 percent market share, is now available at a lower price of $499, reduced from $599.

The display includes several innovative technologies such as High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) support. The HDCP video content encryption chip is required for viewing high-definition content if the attached PC is running Microsoft Windows Vista. HDCP support also makes the LCD compatible with next-generation DVD formats as well as cable and satellite high-definition video services.

"The success of the Gateway 21-inch HD Widescreen LCD is testament to the innovation, first-rate performance and abundant features of the product," said William Diehl, vice president of product marketing, Gateway. "It has been praised by industry experts and customers alike, and now even more computer users can experience enhanced viewing at work and home thanks to the display's very affordable price."
