Power Quotient International may not have the habit of showing off a new and innovative device every week, but when it does enter the spotlight, it seems to make a point of leaving a lasting impression on its audience. This is suggested by its latest move on the Flash storage front. Just a short while ago, PQI came out and revealed the existence of a series of CompactFlash cards with storage space of up to a full 64GB. Not only that, but even their transfer speeds promise to be in the highest league.

The lineup of memory cards that PQI prepared includes models for the 150X, 233X, 300X, and 600X series. All of them measure 42.8 x 36.4 x 3.3 mm and are meant to be used in a variety of digital cameras, including the highest-end models. Furthermore, all of the aforementioned series cover “a full range of capacity solutions.”

The 150X models have a maximum writing speed of 22.5 MB/s, which is already decent. The rates go up with each line, however, to 35 MB/s on the 233X, 45 MB/s on the 300X and, most importantly, a full 90MB/s on the 600X. Thus, they will perform well in high resolution digital imaging products and should no longer pose the risk of running out of storage space.

All in all, the products should become useful assets in the hands of even the most exigent of professional photographers. Unfortunately, the hardware maker chose not to reveal any details regarding product prices.

“Among the PQI CF memory cards available, the CF 600X memory card not only offers an 8GB to 64GB capacity range, but also high speeds and low power consumption, which means users don't have to wait to access files, transfer times are greatly reduced, and your long exposure and continuous shooting needs will be fulfilled,” the official announcement states.
