Power Quotient International has recently released firmware version 1.47 for their Air Card Wi-Fi adapter. Unfortunately, the manufacturer has not offered a changelog with this release.

However, updating the firmware is an easy job anyone can perform without having to break a sweat.

First of all, you'll need to format the PQI Air Card and unzip the contents of the AirCard_V147.zip file on to the card.

The next move is removing and plugging the card back in. A 2-3 minutes wait is required, followed by a Wi-Fi environment check from your computer.

If everything goes as expected, you should connect to the Air Card and enter the device's menu (192.168.1.1 in a browser's link bar). Verify the correct firmware version by looking into the Home tab.

Remove, then reconnect the Air Card to the reader. The unzipped files should no longer show in the root directory. If that happens, you have successfully updated your firmware.

Below is the link to the firmware. Download, install and stay “updated one minute ago.”
