Belonging to the Attache series, they should all be shipping

PNY Technologies could have taken things easy and released just one or two flash drives at a time, but it decided to be bolder this once, so it launched an entire host of them.

The 32 GB USB 3.0 is the only one of the newcomers that, by our reckoning, does not belong to the same set as the others (Attache).

Designed with a metallic case, it stores anything from photos to videos/movies. The USB 3.0 interface, being what it is, permits data to be transferred at up to 80 MB/s.

It is safe to say that the 32 GB USB 3.0 is built for speed. Now we can look at the one built for capacity: the 128GB Attache, the largest capacity that PNY has ever had in an USB drive.

128 GB Attache uses a metal coating in silver and black and a capless design with a sliding collar.

The rest of the flash drives, and there are many of them, focus on style and boast cases made of rubber, metal and plastic, respectively.

In the first category (rubber), there are four members: Connect Attache (the simplest of the lot), Bracelet Attache (has interchangeable bracelet bands), Sport Attache (magnet-/ water-/ shock-/ temperature-proof) and Eraser Attache (can erase pencil marks).

The two metal-encased drives are called Micro Metal Attache (very small model that “disappears” into an USB port) and Micro Hook Attache (can hook to briefcases, keychains, backpacks, etc.).

As for the plastic drives, there is the Key Attache (key-like shape) and the Compact Attache (sliding collar, capless design, up to 64 GB storage).

"We have a continued focus to keep our USB designs contemporary and unique, to reflect the broad demographic and diverse needs of our consumers," said Tina Diffley, USB product manager at PNY.

"The expanded direction of our USB line supports all ages, functions and applications, so students can manage their homework, presentations, music and movies -- all with reliability and style."

PNY's website has all the drives up for order with a 1-year warranty, so go there to see how much each one costs. Certain e-tailers and retailers should have it available as well.
