PNY has just announced that it plans to debut its second generation of factory overclocked graphics cards at the PAX East gaming festival, and the first model to be released will be the PNY XLR8 GeForce GTX 560 Ti OC2.

Judging by its aspect, the GTX 560 Ti OC2 doesn't look different than all the other GF114-based solutions that follow Nvidia's reference design, but the card has been pre-overclocked in order to offer better performances in games and benchmarks.

As a result, the core is now run at 900MHz, compared to the reference 822MHz clock, while the memory runs at 1053MHz (4212MHz effective data rate), 51MHz more than Nvidia's stock frequency.

This means that the card has 134.78GB/sec worth of bandwidth available, which translates into a 5% improvement when compared with the stock model.

As most of you already know, the GTX 560 Ti is based on the GF114 core and packs 384 streaming processors, 64 texturing units, 32 ROP units and a 256-bit memory bus.

“We’ve teamed up with one of our largest e-tail partners to debut two great products: the GTX 560 Ti OC2 and 6GB 2000MHz DDR3,” said Nicholas Mauro, senior marketing manager, PC components for PNY.

“These newest members to our already robust product line are ideal for consumers looking for high performance products to upgrade their systems into extreme gaming machines.

“PNY is uniquely positioned to offer both graphic card and memory options, as well as a plethora of other PC related products, and there’s no better place than PAX East to reach one of our core demographics,” concluded the company's rep.

According to PNY, the XLR8 GeForce GTX 560 Ti OC2 graphics card has a recommended retail price of $264.99.

Soon after its release, PNY also plans to introduce second generation factory overclocked GeForce GTX 580 and GTX 570-based models.

The PAX East 2011 gamer festival will be held between March 11 and March 13 at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, in Boston, Massachusetts.
