Shenzhen Thomson's D887-2 portable media player looks like an ordinary device of its kind, but it promises to bring a breath of fresh air in the electronics industry, by integrating a couple of nice features in their technical specification file. Among all the player's features there is this built-in G-sensor option, which is used to do something.

Too bad they
forgot to mention what exactly can this do. Or, it might be just a trick to think about the infinite possibilities you could use the G-sensor for. However, some assume that the option could be used for motion control. No official word on that! Besides that, everything seems to be looking decent. It reveals a 2.6 inch QVGA TFT screen display with a resolution of about 320 x 240 pixels.

When it comes to the portable media player's internal capabilities, the device is said to be able to deal with a couple of popular file formats out there, such as AVI and FLV for the video content, as well as Mp3, WMA, WAV, FLAC and APE for the audio files. Moreover, as it has to keep up with the latest trends in the industry; and they also made the device compatible with JPEG and BMP images.

The file transfer management is assured via the latest USB 2.0 internal port. In addition, if the memory storage seems to be insufficient, the PMP allows an extra memory boost of about 2GB via miniSD card slots.

Needless to say, sharing of the media content can also be performed via a built-in speaker. There are also a bunch of extra stuff, such as the FM tuner with recording function, the voice recorder and the e-book reader functionality. To make it sound better, the user can customize the player with one of the equalizer settings.

Do you want to know what's the biggest issue with this PMP? If you want one of these, you will have to order at least 1.000 to 1.999 pieces at a time. Why? How would I know? Ask Mother Nature!
