Lady Gaga, with the kind of exposure she enjoys in the media and especially given that whatever she does seems bound to make the headlines, could make a wonderful addition to a cause, if she were convinced to embrace it. This is precisely what PETA is hoping for, currently courting the singer to pose for posters from the anti-fur campaign of the organization, PageSix informs.

The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals apparently got the brilliant idea of getting Gaga for the campaign after hearing her speak against those who wear fur. Someone from PETA immediately approached her with a proposition that she become part of the No Fur campaign that already lists such stars as Holly Madison, Pamela Anderson, Dennis Rodman and countless others, all of them wearing for the shooting nothing but their own skin, if one might say so.

As of now, Gaga has not yet answered PETA in any way, PageSix says, citing sources close to the singer and who are very much in the know with her career choices. “Lady Gaga, who’s known for her outrageous outfits, might soon be wearing nothing at all. The pop sensation showed up for a TV interview recently wearing a coat made of plush Kermit the Frogs, and told Ryan Seacrest, ‘I really loved this one... because I thought it was [a] commentary on not wearing fur, ‘cause I hate fur and I don’t wear fur.’ That prompted PETA poobah Dan Mathews to ask her to join the likes of Eva Mendes, Christy Turlington and Pamela Anderson in posing in the buff.” the aforementioned e-zine writes.

Speaking of outlandish outfits and how they always help Gaga stand out from the crowd, the “Poker Face” hitmaker has recently been accused not only of imitating and borrowing from someone else, but downright stealing every item that makes her outfits so special and appreciated. Irish singer Roisin Murphy was recently telling the media she came up first with the idea for shoulder pads, futuristic hats and crazy ensembles, and Gaga met her once and has not ceased copying her look ever since.

“She’s copied my style. I met her about a year ago before she got really big and I had no clue that this was all going to happen. She wasn’t wearing shoulder pads at the time, and I was. Lady Gaga is just a poor imitation of me. She has copied my style, she took my shoulder pads and all that. Mind you she doesn’t wear the bottom half!” Roisin Murphy was saying the other day.
