The sneakers are made from various animal skins, spark outrage amongst animal lovers

It was only two days ago that I got the chance to introduce you to one of Beyonce's latest acquisitions: a pair of sneakers made from several types of animal skins and even some calf's hair.

Ever since, I've been waiting for PETA to express their views on the celebrity's choice of footwear and, sure enough, this green-oriented group did not delay in stating loud and clear that the sneakers pretty much disgust them.

“These custom-made kicks come with a high price—and it’s paid by the various animals who were beaten and skinned alive or cruelly farmed and killed,” the organization said.

“Although most people aren’t as familiar with the types of animals (snakes, stingrays, crocodiles, and ostriches) killed for this single pair of sneakers as they are with the cats and dogs we share our homes with, these animals are highly sensitive living beings who try hard to avoid capture and suffer enormously when trapped, netted, speared, and skinned alive,” they went on to add.

Still, PETA are confident that Beyonce will soon come to the conclusion that embracing a greener wardrobe will both help her score some points with the crowds and promote a more humane fashion industry.
