“Jesus died so all could live,” the organization wants to remind people

Easter will soon be upon us, and environmental group PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) wishes to take advantage of this occasion to once again urge people to stop eating meat and dairy and instead embrace a vegan diet.

On its website, the organization says that, this year, it is to place billboards such as the one pictured above close to churches in North Carolina and Alabama.

PETA's goal is to remind Christians who attend these churches on a regular basis or maybe just for Easter that killing animals in order to eat them it utterly cruel, and that Jesus would most certainly not approve of this practice.

“Factory farms are hell on Earth for Animals. They’re crammed by the thousands into dark sheds and feedlots, living in their own waste without ever feeling grass beneath their feet,” the organization writes.

“When it comes time for their slaughter, they are packed into trucks without any concern for their welfare and driven in all weather extremes to slaughterhouses, where they have their throats slit and are mutilated and dismembered piece by piece. To treat God’s creation in such a way is wrong,” it adds.

Truth be told, I for one doubt that PETA's billboards will convince all that many people to go vegan. I am however quite sure that they will prove a head turner.
