Don't get me wrong, PETA is an organizations that is definitely fighting for the right cause but even they can't deny that sometimes they are taking things a bit too far. I mean, taking Pamela Anderson and putting her naked in a window of a very famous store was a very good idea but crashing auditions and getting manhandled by security is a totally different thing!
Despite being always considered as one of the most beautiful women in showbiz, who seems to be the epitome of glamour and style all the time, Jennifer Lopez is not among PETA's favorite stars. For a long time now, she has been targeted by the organization for wearing fur and even using it for her fashion lines.
On various occasions, she was asked to not use fur anymore but it's as if the words fall upon deaf ears. She, Beyonce Knowles and Nicole Richie are present in each year's PETA catalog of worst dressed women but neither that can convince the Latino diva not to don any more real fur or skin.
After a period in which she sort of retired from the music stage, Jennifer Lopez is preparing for a fiery 2007. Her first single, 'Que Hiciste', taken from her first all-Spanish album is already out, her brand new reality show has just kicked off to good ratings and she is now preparing for another series of the same type, called 'Glow After Dark'.
The title for the reality show was taken from her latest fragrance, which will be launched at the same time with the series. But with all these big plans, JLo just can't catch a break from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. As she had people auditioning for the television show at Macy's in Downey, CA, two PETA members stormed on stage and caused uproar.
The two women pretended to audition for the part and one of them was heard saying: 'I think the most important thing about being a diva is not only being sexy and being stylish, but is not wearing real f**king fur! You're such a fur-cat JLo'. All the while, the other woman kept shouting 'JLo, fur ho!'.
The incident lasted only for a short time, as security quickly intervened and escorted the two troublemakers out. The diva herself was not present at that precise moment. A spokesperson for her refused to make any comment on what might have made the two PETA-ists get so vocal all of a sudden.
