Pro Evolution Soccer's European Brand Manager Adam Bhatii has been tweeting short vines lately, offering us a glimpse of the upcoming PES 2015. Thanks to a YouTube user who pieced the short vids together, we are now able to take a look at some gameplay footage from the upcoming game.

The footage assembled by YouTube user Rptimao, who stitched all the vines together into a single video, seems to be a little rough around the edges, and Bhatti claims that it's due to the fact that he used an older version of the upcoming game to capture the gameplay.

He has added that the game has come a long way since then and now looks much, much better than what we can see in the posted vines.

"While I should perhaps say it was a given, the first game we've produced on [the] new generation is breathtaking. I always believed we would make a great product this year, but when I play the game and see how far we've come, even I'm surprised," Bhatti states on the game forums.

Konami scheduled an official reveal of PES 2015 at Gamescom 2014, which is underway, so we'll get to see how it stands up to its main competitor, EA Sports' FIFA 15, at least from a visual standpoint, soon enough. PES 2015 has also been nominated in the "best sports game" section at the Gamescom 2014 awards.

Konami skipped both next-gen consoles with last year's installment of PES, and opened a new UK-based studio to help with the development of PES 15, which will mark the series' debut on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 platforms.

Pro Evolution Soccer used to be the undisputed champion of football video games a while ago, but since then EA's FIFA series has managed to capture the attention of the sports crowd, staying on top of Konami's franchise year after year.

This year might see PES return to its former glory, since fans of the FIFA series are starting to complain about EA releasing the same game for the last couple of years. If PES 2015 manages to capture both the excitement of the sport as well as to nail the skill-rewarding gameplay that fans are looking for, it might just turn the tables and make Konami the leading football video game developer once again.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2015 is set to launch on September 26, coming to the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Wii U platforms.
