PDF Expert, “the ultimate solution for all your PDF needs,” has been enhanced with Retina display support, PDF Portfolios and Videos, as well as Document Thumbnails.

PDF Expert not only lets you read and annotate PDF documents, it also allows you to highlight text, draw with your finger and save these changes for later viewing in Preview and Adobe Acrobat.

According to its creators, PDF Expert is the only iPad application that can fill PDF forms, and it reads almost all document types, including those output by iWork, MS Office, and Power Point, as well as text files, images, even music and video files, etc.

“PDF Expert can get documents from any place you may need. PDF files from desktop computers, email attachments, documents on the Dropbox, MobileMe iDisk, GoogleDocs and even in other iPad applications could be accessed with PDF Expert,” according to Readdle, the developers.

The release notes for PDF Expert 4.0 (below) reveal that Readdle has made the application compatible with the high-fidelity screen of the new iPad. The company has made other alterations as well:

What's New in Version 4.0:

- PDF Expert now supports retina display on the new iPad - PDF Portfolios and PDF videos enrich the use of PDFs on your iPad - Document Thumbnails are added to help you browsing your files.

Readdle asks customers to note that “an iOS bug” is causing PDF Expert not to display its icon on their home-screen properly. To fix this, users must simply reboot their device.

Additionally, customers should also be aware that Dynamic XML PDF Forms made with Adobe LifeCycle need to be converted to Static PDF Forms format, in order to be viewed with PDF Expert.

PDF Expert is compatible only with the Apple iPad (all generations) and requires iOS 4.3 or later.
