The KDE edition of PCLinuxOS 2011.6 has been released. This is the first update in six months and is now available in the 32-bit flavour. PCLinuxOS KDE 2011.6 is packing all of the latest software, such as Firefox 5 and KDE SC 4.6.4.

"PCLinuxOS KDE 2011.6 for 32 and 64 bits computers is now available for download. A 64 bit only release will be available in the coming weeks," PCLinuxOS announced.

PCLinuxOS KDE 2011.6 comes with the latest KDE SC 4.6.4 suite and the recent Linux kernel 2.6.38.8. It runs on X.Org Server 1.10.2 and offers a suite of desktop applications such as Firefox 5, Pidgin 2.9.0 and LibreOffice.

LibreOffice is not installed on the live CD, rather there is a simple shortcut to grab the latest version of the office suite, either in live mode or preferably from a local install.

Proprietary drivers for both Nvidia and AMD graphic cards are already installed from the live CD, taking the hassle out of the users' hands. However, some older cards may have trouble using the latest drivers.

The remastering tool, mylivecd is included as well, offering three levels of compression depending on whether you want to create a custom image faster or you want a small ISO.
