PCLinuxOS 2013.12, a free and easy-to-use Linux-based operating system for desktops or laptops based on the “Full Monty,” “KDE,” “LXDE,” and “MATE” flavors, has been released and is available for download.

As usual, this is just a quarterly release, featuring just a number of update packages, a few minor changes and a new Linux kernel.

“PCLinuxOS ‘Full Monty,’ ‘KDE,’ ‘LXDE,’ and ‘MATE’ ISOs for both 32 and 64 bit have been updated with the latest software updates and bug fixes from the software repository. The Kernel was updated to stable release 3.4.70. The KDE ISO’s were updated to KDE 4.11.3. The Mate ISO got an updated theme from Linuzoid and reworked default desktop layout,” reads the official announcement.

The minimum hardware requirements of this distribution are: a modern Intel or AMD 64-bit processor, 1 GB RAM (4 GB+ recommended), 20 GB of hard disk space, and nVidia, ATI HD 4000, or better graphic cards.

A complete list of changes and new features can be found in the official announcement.
