PCLinuxOS 2010.07 Comes in Four Flavors

Bill Reynolds proudly announced last evening, July 8th, the immediate availability for download of the new PCinuxOS 2010.07 operating system. This release is available on mirrors worldwide and it comes in four editions: KDE4, GNOME, LXDE and XFCE. Being powered by Linux kernel 2.6.33.5, PCinuxOS 2010.07 offers updated applications and desktop environments, such as KDE SC 4.4.5, Mozilla Firefox 3.6.6, Mozilla Thunderbird 3.0.5, Pidgin 2.7.1 or Amarok 2.3.1.

"Quarterly updated ISO’s of PCLinuxOS are now available for download on mirrors worldwide. The quarterly release currently comes in three editions: KDE 4.4.5 SC, Gnome 2.30.2 Edition and LXDE Edition. Other editions to follow shorty." - said Bill Reynolds in the official release announcement.

About PCLinuxOS

PCLinuxOS was founded six years ago, in October of 2003, by a company called Texstar, located in Houston, Texas. The PCLinuxOS distribution comes in the form of a Live CD, but it can also be permanently installed on a hard disk drive. PCLinuxOS uses the APT package manager and its Synaptic GUI (Graphical User Interface) frontend. At the moment, PCLinuxOS 2010 is available only for 32-bit machines!
