With all the hype surrounding the rapidly approaching Radeon HD 6000 cards, it is no surprise to hear that some new leak has arisen concerning them, and the latest one has a photo of the Radeon HD 6850 without its cooler.

For those interested in a reminder, the Radeon HD 6000 line that Advanced Micro Devices is working on will show up on October 22.

This series will mark the disappearance, more or less, of the ATI brand and will, at first, be represented by two cards, with even stronger ones supposedly meant to debut later on.

Said models are the Radeon HD 6850 and the HD 6870, both of which are powered by the Barts graphics processing unit.

Said GPU is based on the 40nm manufacturing process technology and the boards themselves will be competing against NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 460.

Not too long ago, the Sunnyvale, California-based company released the press photos of the video boards.

Now, it appears that the folks over at Hardwareluxx managed to get their hands on a photo of the board's PCB (printed circuit board), free of its cooler.

The photo reveals the existence of eight GDDR5 memory chips whose frequency is of 4,000 MHz, as well as, of course, the aforementioned Barts GPU.

The clock of the graphics processor is 775 MHz and the memory interface of the board is 256 bits.

A single 6-pin PCI express power connector is also present, making it clear that the card has, predictably, a lower power draw than that of the HD 6870.

Other specifications of the video controller include two DVI ports, an HDMI connector, a pair of mini DisplayPort outputs and support for CrossFire multi-GPU setups.

It should end up priced at under $200 and will be officially introduced on Friday, along with its more capable sibling.
