IFA 2011 may be over, but this doesn't mean that the IT industry is going to take a break any time soon, and Genius is now adding its own two cents to the proof behind this fact, shaped like a set of speakers.
It is not unheard of for the majority of IT companies to take a step back and wait for the reaction to the products they revealed during a certain trade show.
Apparently, the IFA 2011 event did not, in fact, cause the world to take any break from releasing new inventions.
For instance, the tablet S, which actually did get exhibited by Sony a few days ago,
went up for pre-order in the UK.
Now, Genius is making its own product launch, issuing a whole press release dedicated to the occasion.
Said occasion is the completion of the
SP-U150X speaker system, really a pair of speakers that instead of regular jacks use the Universal Serial Bus specification as primary plug.
In other words, though they can easily plug into any PC or mac system, they aren't meant to work with anything else unless that something else also has a USB port, as well as the software needed to run USB audio devices.
Then again, to make it easy for the masses, there is also a line-in port, for media players and other things with headphone jacks and volume control built-in.
Genius chose a triangle shape when it envisioned the items, with a height of 10 centimeters and, thus, very easy to place anywhere, while their black exterior gives them the necessary visual neutrality to make them fit for any room layout.
As for actual performance, the company notes a frequency response range of as low as 100 Hz (bass) and as high as 22,000 Hz (treble).
Finally, they boast a total power output of 4W RMS and 2-inch drivers, plus a matte face. Sales should already be underway in Canada and the US, for $19.99, in the aforementioned black theme, or in green or yellow.
