The EMEA market is doing as poorly as the rest of the world in this regard

I've been keeping up with the PC market and I have to say that the downward trend on this segment continues to lay pressure on everyone involved.

Which is to say, shipments continue to drop, making life difficult for all providers of desktops and laptops.

In fact, according to IDC, shipments in Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) declined 16% in the third quarter of the year alone (2013).

That means that shipments were of 21.4 million in July-September. Notebooks at 13.3 million (20.6% down on-year) and desktops at 8 million (7% down on-year).

The education sector was the only one that got a boost by the back-to-school season, but even there, it was a weak showing.

Nevertheless, even with all this, it is assumed that things will get better from now on.
