During the second quarter of the year, they continued to steeply fall

I knew that sales of computers were going down, but I didn't realize just how badly some countries had it. And it's past the point where we can blame tablets for everything too.

Take Russia for example. According to analysts from International Data Corporation (IDC), shipments in that country dropped by 37.3% on-year during the second quarter of 2013.

True, tablets grew in sales by 156% between March and June, but the volume was, ultimately, of only 1.95 million units.

And no matter how you look at it, total PC shipments of 2.47 million units is a quite low figure, especially given the size of that nation.

Of those, 1.69 million were notebooks, 45.3% fewer than in the second quarter of 2012.

Amazingly enough, the desktop market fell the least, unlike in other areas, by 8.2%, to 785,000 units.

It's actually amazing that computer sales are so low in Russia, but I suppose not all countries can have as many PC lovers (and brand loyalists) as the USA.
