A new survey released by the Entertainment Software Association has revealed a rather impressive statistic, confirming that, while consoles are quite popular for U.S. gamers, accounting for 68% of the market, the PC is quite close with 63%, overtaking smartphones or handhelds.

The PC platform has been called dead numerous times by many different developers but it's still going strong thanks to plenty of different promotions, like the Steam Summer Getaway Sale of 2013.

Through a new study made by the ESA, via DualShockers, in which lots of American households were polled about their gaming habits, it seems that the PC is still alive and well.

According to the stats, 68% of households do their gaming on consoles, while 63% go with the PC.

Smartphones dominate 43 percent of the total, while dedicated gaming handheld platforms account for 37%.

What do you think about the new study, do you agree with gaming on the PC or on consoles or other devices?
