Vuze 5.3.0.1 Beta 19, a BitTorrent client previously known as Azureus, which is built on Java, is now available for download and testing.

Vuze is a relatively lightweight BitTorrent client that can be used to download torrents and even acts as a search engine. There are multiple Linux clients in development and the competition is fierce. This is one of the reasons why Vuze receives so many updates.

According to the changelog, a clipboard torrent URI monitor has been added (it can be enabled by right clicking on the ‘Open Torrents’ button in the toolbar area, tag support has been added to the Friends plugin, the copy-on-complete logic has been fixed, and the initial-tab field order has been changed for the new torrent wizard.

Also, spurious “failed to create parent folder” errors have been corrected, a SWT issue that occurred when switching datasources in sub-tabs has been fixed, and a new WebUI plugin has been added.

Check out the announcement for a complete list of updates and new features. You can also check out our Vuze review, although it's for a slightly older version.
