Harmonix and MTV Games have announced that they will be putting out a new track pack for Rock Band, marking the debut of both heavy rock veterans Spoon and metal band P.O.D. on the music game platform. The fresh DLC pack is made up of 5 tracks and will be available for those gaming on the Xbox 360 from Microsoft, the PlayStation 3 from Sony and the Nintendo Wii.

Spoon will be contributing with four tracks for Rock Band. “I Turn My Camera On” is taken from the “Gimme Fiction” from 2005, while “Don't You Evah” is taken from the 2007 launch “Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga.”

There are also two tracks, “Trouble Comes Running” and “Got Nuffin,” are taken from the latest studio material released by the rockers, called “Transference,” an album that managed to reach number four on the Billboard Top 200 chart when it came out in January of this year. P.O.D. are making their debut on Rock Band with the track “Alive,” from the album “Satellite,” launched in September 2001. All the hits included are master recordings.

The songs can be purchased together under the name “Spoon Pack 01” on both the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3. Gamers also have the ability to get one track at a time for the price of 1.99 dollars or its equivalent in virtual currency. Those playing Rock Band on the Nintendo Wii do not have the pack option and need to shell out 200 Wii Points for any of the songs mentioned above.

Recently, Harmonix has launched a demo for the upcoming Green Day: Rock Band, the biggest surprise being the reveal that Rock Band 3, a game, which could arrive as early as this autumn, will allow music lovers to simulate playing the keyboard.
