It’s a special moment in every girl’s life, almost as important as the big wedding day for some of the women out there, but rapper P Diddy just managed to turn it into a public spectacle by proposing to his longtime girlfriend on Instagram.

And don’t think that this means he posted a photo of him proposing to her in Paris or some remote tropical island. No, that would have been too mainstream. Instead, the rapper chose to plaster a photo of a huge diamond ring on his profile and ask his girl to marry him.

In the process, 3.2 million people also saw the live request, although that might have the point in the first place. Let’s face it, no one likes to show off more than Diddy, famous for his outrageous parties even in Hollywood, where the parties are as about as outrageous as you can get.

Diddy, who is reportedly worth several hundred millions of dollars, just saved himself a whole lot of money by throwing out the proposal on social media. Although, he might have earned himself some headache from his future fiancée, in case she said yes.

The caption on the photo read: “Baby do you like it? I just want to get you wat you Like! I just wanna Mk you smile :).” He must have hit a soft spot because his girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, responded with “It’s perfect!” She has been in a relationship with the rapper since 2007.

Only hours later, Cassie was already seen wearing the rock on her finger, as portrayed by a photo posted by her friend Keyshia Cole. Apart from the huge rock on her finger, Cassie wore the biggest grin on her face, indicating that she didn’t mind very much being put on the spot in from of several million people.

Chances are she was waiting for Diddy to pop the question a long time. Congratulations to the future husband and bride, who proved you don’t need to rent out an entire stadium in order to propose!
