Ozzy Osbourne has written a
musical about the Russian mystic Rasputin.
Thus he has fulfilled a lifelong ambition.
The rocker once complained that being the famous Ozzy also involved less advantageous aspects:
"Being Ozzy Osbourne is great, but if I don't sing about the f**king devil or bats or whatever, people don't really want to know."
That's why he was in doubt when he started writing the musical. His inspiration came from watching a BBC documentary about the womanizing Romanov hell raiser, Rasputin.
Ozzy considers the Russian mystic a spiritual ancestor. So he embarked on writing the musical regardless of the public reactions:
"I always wanted to do a musical for the West End or Broadway. If it gets picked up it gets picked up, but it was a lot of fun to do anyway."
"It's a major achievement for me, because I've always wanted to do it", he added.
Unfortunately, the rocker won't be starring in his own production.
"If there is an album I'll sing the part, but I don't want to go on Broadway", he declared.
That would have been interesting, to see Ozzy portraying Rasputin.
He still has time to let himself persuaded to take the part.
